Everyday brings newness. With the present upheavals and uncertainties all around us, we wonder what today will bring. Today, like all other days, we continue our quest for survival, and our pursuit for something better. It is also a new day for self-discovery, to start over, to tackle new challenges, and of course, to continue old routines.

Although, the new day may bring new battles and new struggles, the day also brings fascinations. I call them fortunes, not because we wake up one morning to find them gift-wrapped and waiting on our dresser. Rather, we have to search for them.
If you want to find your fortunes, you will have to begin your search. I know a search may be intimidating, but this is a good place to start. Many of us will begin nothing new today. For others, lots of new things are happening—both good and bad. As much as we prefer good news over bad, when a new day comes, nothing can stop it—no matter what it brings. The good news is, as long as we are alive, we have access to the opportunities of today.
Fortunes are still out there with your name. They are waiting around for you to find them. So no matter what is happening in your life, you have not reached the pinnacle of yourself. The best pursuit that we can embark on, is not the pursuit of things, but the pursuit of our better self. There is more to the person we see in the mirror every day. We know the routines of that person very well, but do we know the real potentials in the person. Deeper within us, is a truer version of ourselves—someone the mirror cannot reveal.
The obvious question is: how do we get into the deep and unearth that person?
For the next 30 days, each new blog, will present you with fortunes and truths about yourselves, that will stimulate your optimism. The current crises in our world, forces us to look more introspectively at ourselves and at others. Many people are struggling. Many are losing faith in themselves, in their families, in the government, and in God.
God wants to use each day to teach us more about ourselves as it relates to Him. Once God gives us breath, we have to wake up every day. We might as well wake up looking forward to something. Since every day is a quest for survival, what better way to survive than to find the fortunes that has YOUR name and that will last you your lifetime?
So, begin this 30 day journey with hope and expectation that the Lord will lead you to the fortunes that suit you perfectly. Here, it is all about Discovering the Treasures Within. Congratulate yourself for taking the first step, to unveil fortune after fortune. Fill up from the fountain of hope and believe that fortunes are out there with YOUR name. As you find them, be liberal with the fortunes you have found. Do not forget to share them. The more fortunes you share, the more fortunes you will receive.
Isaiah 45: 3, “I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who summons you by name” (NIV).
