Day 10: There is a recall on your life

RecallsRecalls come with a tone of urgency; yet, so many people ignore them. There is a recall on all human life; sadly, millions disregard the call. It does not matter if you think that you are a really good person, or you think that you are a really wicked person; the recall is for all of us. Some manufacturers make a public announcement to customers, telling them to return defective products. In turn, the company repairs or replaces the product, in some cases, gives refund.

It is the company’s responsibility to publicize the recall and provide a solution. It is the customer’s responsibility to return the product for repairs. Centuries ago, the Master Designer did His part. He made the announcement through His Word, the Bible. He declared, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”  Hosea also pleads for you to “bring your confessions, and return to the Lord. Say to him, ‘Forgive all our sins and graciously receive us, so that we may offer you our praises.’ ”

Companies make recalls because of legislations. God makes recalls because of love. He treasures the perfect thought of you so much that He sacrificed His son, just so that YOU can have the opportunity of perfection. Once we answer the call, God repairs our hurts. He replaces our weakness with His strength. He gives us a new heart, nothing less. As a result, He sent the Perfect Medium, Jesus, who is the only way to perfection. It is our responsibility to respond.

But why do people take recalls so casually, especially the call to salvation?

Let us follow the Principle. Imagine a company like Toyota having to say to customers, “Listen up people. You need to return your cars to the company because the cars have defective hand brakes.” I can imagine that it would be challenging having to turn in the car that you need for your daily commute. Nobody wants to deal with the stress of a recall. Even though it may be frustrating, you know what they say: “Better be safe than sorry.”

Still, people find all sorts of reasons not to answer the call to perfection.

One reason is choice. God’s love is so pure, holy and refreshing that He could not impose it on humanity, He allowed us to choose. Love loses its divine attributes when it operates under dictation. Freedom is one prerequisite for genuine love. That is God’s way.

People also choose to ignore the call because, it is too challenging to give up societal standards for spiritual standards. One is too low and one is too high. There is no middle ground; some prefer to stay low than to climb higher. They choose to continue life as is. Therefore, the most important call from mortality to immortality, is the most ignored call.  As frustrating as it is to handle recalls, is it not better to be safe than sorry?

Another reason people ignore the call is that, just like companies lose credibility when they have to make a recall, God has lost credibility with many people. These people question God’s authority. They think He’s no longer in control and do not trust Him anymore. Companies may make mistakes, but God never does.

If you have not fully answered the call, it is time to consider. Customers cannot give partial response to a recall. Either they return the product or they do not.  The celestial recall is a call for a new life, a new heart, a new person. If you are partially answering the call, technically, you have not answered.  I know that it is frustrating to give up your old life for a new walk with Jesus Christ. But this is what transformation requires—giving up the old for the new. I wish it was easier for you, especially if you have personal and past struggles that you are trying to overcome. Transformation is never easy, that is why God’s Spirit is there to assist you.

Jesus, our perfect medium, is waiting to offer transformation to every human who wants to fulfill the perfect thought God has for His design. But many are hesitant. If you have partially answered, God wants a FULL response. If you have not answered, do not wait too long. Just a word of caution: recalls do not last forever, they have time limits. If you have not done so as yet, surrender your life now. If you have answered, God is working on your behalf. Keep being patient. Keep surrendering.

Pay a little more attention to the announcement that there is a recall on your life, because there really is. One day, the recall will expire.

Luke 9:56, “For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them.”
