America Must “Win!”

It’s not that I want America to win. It’s not that I want other countries to lose. It’s not that America deserves to win. It’s not that other countries deserve to lose. It’s not that America is in a good position to win because of any strategic, political, or economic reasons, we may want to adjoin. It’s not because of the Christian Zionist movement. It’s not directly because of Christian Nationalism. It’s not because of the Evangelicals and neither is it because of Israel. For America, it’s not just about the war in Iran; it’s bigger.

It is that America must “win.”

Why?

The answer is both complicated and simple.

Here is the simple answer. It is Bible Prophecy.

Yet the answer is more complicated than it is simple. Of many complications, the first complication is that the word “America” is never once mentioned in the Bible. Imagine that the superpower of our times, now on the lips of every people and nation, is never explicitly mentioned once in the Bible. We read of Ethiopia, India, and Egypt, but no America. If Isaiah could predict the birth of Cyrus long before Cyrus was born (Isaiah 44:28, 45: 1) and Moses could predict the birth of a Messiah (Deut 18:15) why God, who inspired the Bible did not inspire a prophet to explicitly say something using the word “America?”

Instead, John the Revelator said this:

“And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.” (Rev 13:11).

Now, here is the second complication; every religion interprets the Bible differently. Certainly, I may see America in that verse and someone else may only see creative Divine imagery. How we perceive the current events of our times is contingent on how we interpret scripture and how we understand history.

Another complication is, compared to the few millions who “read” the Bible, there are billions who do not so much as pick it up, and the majority of those who scan the pages, do not see America in that verse.

Still, in these times, Revelation 13 is one of the most valuable chapters of the Bible to anyone who is either interested in anything about current world events, how the world will end or interested in anything about life after earth and valuable mostly to anyone who considers their eternal soul.

Whether we believe the world will or will not end, whether we believe we will reach utopia or dystopia, whether we believe life brings death and then what…many do not care, whether we believe in the Bible or not, Revelation 13:11 stands firm as the answer to many questions of our end times.

The current debate is who will win or who has already won. The experts give their say, the politicians give their input, the people march their protests when the Bible already gave the answer. In this kind of society, it is easier to watch or listen to a podcast where specialists speculate, instead of turning the refreshingly noisy leaves of the Bible.

Who will turn the key and open the door to unravel the hidden language of Revelation 13:11, then choose to believe and then agree with what they find?

If we want to go anywhere beyond this life, if we want to face the horrific days ahead with courage and understanding, if we want eternal security, there, in that verse is the key for ourselves, our children and their children.

So…, how do we get America out of Revelation 13:11?

Well, for the unlearned eye, nothing in this verse screams America. Bible students know that “beast” is kingdom, “earth” is people, “horns” means power, authority, political standing.

Revelation 13:11 cannot stand alone, it continues down to verse 18; it is also joined at the hip with many chapters in Daniel. These two Bible books lean towards the end of time, but we must also work our way back to world history, particularly the Catholic Church, Martin Luther, the French Revolution, Protestant American history. Sadly, America will make a U-turn and head right back to impose the religious slavery the pilgrims ran from. To make matters worse, America will become joined to the chasers who once chased the pioneers. American government is already joining hands and will completely join hands with the apostate protestant church who once protested error, to fulfill a mission they call godly.

How do I know? I don’t know, I just believe.

Since I was a child, that America as a superpower will enforce laws of worship has been drummed in my head. I have been both inspired and intimidated by the prophecies presented and preached in my ear.

As a young adult, I wandered away from the prophecies and the preaching and went tangential, not just to be contrary, but to find my path.  Life took me right back to the preaching, except, I also took the keys of learning in my hand, and much prayer in my heart to find the true path, not a path, but the one true path…, and thank God I did. Some 30 plus years later, today, I see the makings of Revelation’s truth right before my eyes.

I am saddened but not alarmed at what I am seeing in the current events. I am humbled and feel privileged that I am part of a group who learned and anticipated end time events since childhood.

Now who taught us?

The Holy Spirit, through a young illiterate girl who after receiving visions about the future eloquently and profoundly detailed events in the late 1850’s. More than a century later, her prophetic interpretation as revealed to her in visions is alive; it is unfolding right before my eyes. No one will read, Ellen G. White’s book, “The Great Controversy” and deny the divine insight she provided into current events particularly regarding America.  What she wrote is now out in the open.

As He revealed to her, God himself through the Holy Spirit, will open our understanding to the pages of the Bible particularly Daniel and Revelation along with help from White’s book as a resource. Then Revelation 13:11 will become clear and the world will understand that America must win.

What do I mean by win?

She says, “When the early church became corrupted by departing from the simplicity of the gospel and accepting heathen rites and customs, she lost the Spirit and power of God; and in order to control the consciences of the people, she sought the support of the secular power. The result was the papacy, a church that controlled the power of the state and employed it to further her own ends, especially for the punishment of “heresy.” In order for the United States to form an image of the beast, the religious power must so control the civil government that the authority of the state will also be employed by the church to accomplish her own ends. (Great Controversy, 443.2).

Though the specific details of the end time battles between nations are not explicitly detailed in her book, the overall gist that America and the apostate church will begin to enforce laws and then join with the Pope to further rule the world is clear.

Specifically, when or how America will “win” is the talk of speculation as we are watching the unscripted scenes played out before our eyes. Yet, with certainty America must “win”. It’s Bible Prophecy. It’s not America’s fault per se.  It’s the underworking’s of the deceptive evil of sin which began in Genesis 3. Evil and sin must reach its climax so that it can reach its destruction. The Bible says there will be false prophets and great deception (Matt 24:24).

It is true. Many do not like what they are seeing. We can protest. We can sue. We can fight with guns. We can shoot with words, but America will win. If not now, then soon. If not with this president, then with another.

Now, not every win is victory. Some wins are losses. A broken church joining hands with a corrupt government in the so-called name of God will begin an eternal spiritual defeat, the greatest loss.

America, along with the apostate church holding her hands must “win,” because absolute truth must be tested, if it is to conquer the deception, the lust, the lies of Genesis three (3).

In the same breath, even though it seems like the church is losing, there is the greatest win ahead for genuine followers of Jesus Christ who understand that what is played out in the world must be played out as part of the last battle between good and evil, truth and error, false worship and true worship, false Christians and true Christians, obedience to man and obedience to God.

At the same time, genuine obedience to all of God’s laws and love for the nobler, simpler, spiritual things will be sown deep within the hearts of true Christians and this will cultivate the true remnant church.

Only then will the gospel reach the whole world, and the glorious end will come.

I pray to be there; I hope you do too!
