Jesus the Center; The Gospel, His line of Truth.
Take a singular piece of cord with workable length and you will be able to make one unique, non-looping open circle. Someone can find a similar piece of cord of the same length and make another circle, yes, but it will be a duplicate, not the original. This singular piece of cord is synonymous with the line of Biblical truth. This line of truth is unique. There is none like it; it is irreplaceable. This line represents the truth of the Bible, which is the gospel of Jesus Christ. This unique piece of cord, the line of truth, can only make one circle, and that circle forms the doctrine of the Bible.
Now, the center of that circle is also be the center of infinite “cord” circles, but only one cord can represent the line of truth. This center is synonymous to Jesus the Christ. Being the center of this line of truth, He is also the center of infinite facets of our existence, the center of our salvation, the center of our eternity, the center of our hope, the center of our peace, our joy, our resurrection, the center of…., and it all begins with the first cord, the line of truth.
There is a detrimental “truth” issue these days. Many people including Christians want to find their own piece of cord and form their own line of truth and then dot Jesus or something like Him as the center. This is not only impossible mathematically, but also impossible Biblically and spiritually. Then, there are those who toss Jesus aside out of the center and label Him as some good, but insignificant point on the circle.
God, the author of the Bible has used His cord of inspiration to define this unique line of truth, we don’t get to choose the cord, it is already chosen as the path for us around the circle of Bible doctrine.
Today, God’s line of truth seems tangled in the rubbles of human doctrine and interpretations.
Be encouraged, this line of truth is still there in the rubbles of human confusion.
How do I know?
The center must exist as a point in space before any line of truth can be formed, even if there is entanglement, the center point is still there. This point makes Christ not just divine, but God.
Praise the Lord, that Jesus who was from before the beginning, is that center. He just didn’t appear because truth appeared, or the Bible appeared. Truth appeared because Jesus existed from before the beginning. John makes it so poetically clear that “in the beginning was the Word” ( John1:1) that is Jesus the Christ, who was before Abraham is (John 8:58), who “is the first and the last” (Rev 2:8), who “openeth and no man shutteth; and shutteth and no man openeth,” (Rev 3:7), “who “was with [God] the Father before the world was,” (John 17:5).
Jesus is the center.
It seems so simple, just one piece of cord, and one center.
Yet, the world can’t get it right. Muslims have their own piece of cord, with no center. Islam have their own piece of cord and no center. Buddhist, Agnostics, Atheist, Pantheist and all the other “ists” have their own piece of cord, with no center. Christians have their piece of cord, some with a center and some without.
Many people today are genuinely lost, or confused, wondering who has the correct piece of cord?
Who has the right line of truth?
Jesus, who is the center, has the right and only line of truth, and the gospel, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believe in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16) is the circular doctrine of the entire Bible.
Jesus, the incarnate God, born of virgin, is the son of God (Luke 3:38).
The Bible prophesied Jesus’ birth on this earth. History verified Jesus’ existence. Eyewitnesses confirmed His words ( John), His miracles (John 21:24-25), His transfiguration (2 Pet 1:17) ), His death, burial and resurrection (1 Cor 15:5-9) and Peter couldn’t say it any better, “For we have not followed cunningly devised fables when we made know unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ but were eyewitnesses of his majesty (2 Pet 1:16).
Jesus is the center.
If Christ is not the center, of our line of truth, our piece of cord is useless for everything eternal.
Here is what Jesus says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock, if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me” (Rev 3:20).
If your piece of cord, is not forming God’s line of truth with Jesus as the center, know that He is knocking, open the door and welcome Him in as God first, as Savior next and then as Friend, for He calls those who do what He commands friends (John 15:15).
It is so simple, one line of truth, one center.
What makes it complicated then?
It’s you and it’s me. Our wretched self-will, our blind intelligence, our fickle riches, our false traditions, our decorated nakedness, our occupied laziness, our empty fillings (Rev 3:17).
Remove those and the line will become crystal clear. It’s hard to do, but not impossible (Phil 4:13).
God, the Father has been calling. He is not desperate, but can you hear the pleading in His voice, He says, “Ho” trying to get our attention, “Ho, everyone that thirsteth, come ye to the waters; and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price…buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich, and white raiment that mayest be clothed…, ( Isaiah 55:1, Rev 3:18).
Christ is offering the eternal riches of heaven for free, and it begins with His line of truth.
Get in tune with Christ who is the center, and the gospel, Christ’s line of truth will come alive in our hearts, our homes, our community, and our eventually we will evangelize the world, and Jesus will come.
